The Battle
of ATL

Ride Atlanta. Find the phone. Beat the clock.

Ellison dropped his phone playing frisbee in Piedmont Park. Find it, survive Atlanta’s most popular bike path, and reach Morgan at 98 Estoria before the clock runs out.

The experiment

97development buildsSeptember 2026

Atlanta, crunched into a game.

This experimental indie game started when a Web Experts client wanted to explore 3D rendering for buildings. That led to a slightly harebrained question: how far could we push a frontier model and Unreal Engine before GTA VI arrived?

The result has been described as the 1980s Paperboy game meeting GTA on Atlanta’s most popular bike path.

We digitized the full path, Piedmont Park, and key parts of Midtown into one connected Unreal Engine world. This beta makes the route playable from Midtown through Piedmont Park to Krog Street Tunnel. Later builds will open more of the route already mapped.

The first 97 builds came from an intense four-plus-day sprint with GPT-6 Astra running at high speed: a little over one billion AI tokens processed during development, plus five usage resets, while studying the map, testing the route, and turning it into gameplay.

Map data → Unreal Engine → game

How we rebuilt Piedmont Park.

We traced the real path network and road connections, projected them into one Unreal coordinate system, shaped terrain under the routes, and implemented the rules that make the mapped city playable.
